Caring for Your Sterling Silver Jewellery
925 sterling silver is loved for its beautiful shine and durability, making it a timeless choice for everyday jewellery. However, as a natural precious metal, it does require a little more care and attention than gold jewellery to keep it looking its very best.
Everyday Care
* Wear your jewellery as often as you can! The natural oils in your skin help keep sterling silver bright and can actually slow the build-up of tarnish.
* Remove your jewellery before swimming, showering, exercising, or sleeping.
* Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, sunscreen, hairspray, and household cleaning products, as these can dull the finish.
* Put your jewellery on last when getting ready and take it off first at the end of the day.
Cleaning
To restore its shine, gently polish your jewellery with a soft polishing cloth made for sterling silver. If a deeper clean is needed, wash it in warm water with a small amount of mild soap, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Storage
When you're not wearing your jewellery, we recommend storing it in the Seed of Hope ring box provided. Each box is specially treated with anti-tarnish technology to help protect your jewellery and keep it beautifully bright between wears. Store your ring in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excess moisture for the very best protection.
A Natural Process
Sterling silver naturally reacts with the air, moisture, and the oils in our skin, meaning some tarnishing over time is completely normal. One of the best ways to keep your jewellery looking its best is simply to wear and enjoy it regularly. If tarnish does develop, it can easily be removed with gentle cleaning or a silver polishing cloth.
